Call of Duty Warzone by Activision is a free-to-play game that has been popular since its release in 2020. Since its inception, the game has evolved beyond the traditional battle royale game by introducing new modes and maps such as Rebirth Island. According to a new rumour, Activision wants players to switch to the game's sequel (Call of Duty: Warzone 2), which will be a free-to-play title available on the same platform.

The game's main modes at launch are Battle Royale and Plunder. Warzone introduces a new in-game currency system that can be used to purchase items at "Buy Stations" located throughout the map. "Loadout" drops are an example of where Cash can be exchanged for limited access to players' custom classes (which were shared with Modern Warfare's standard modes prior to Season 6, v1.29). Cash can also be used to buy items like "killstreaks" and gas masks. Looting buildings and killing players with cash on them will yield cash. Warzone initially only offered Trios, a squad of three players. However, Solos, Duos, and Quads have all been added to the game in free post-launch content updates.

The game received mostly positive reviews from critics. Activision announced in April 2021 that Warzone had reached 100 million active players. [4] A sequel, titled Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, is set to be released as a free-to-play component of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on November 16, 2022, and a mobile version of Warzone is also in the works.
Activision has confirmed that Warzone  will be released on November 16th, 2022. one day ago.
